Pollinator Tower was created for the Ridgewood Community Garden, funded by the Queens Art Fund, and bridges public art and community gardening.
The sculpture houses seasonal species highlighting the importance of pollinator plants as necessary companions for growing food, supporting bee populations, and the local ecosystem.
The plants installed in the sculpture began as seeds on a Ridgewood rooftop garden which after 9 years was displaced at the request of the property management. This project provides a new home for these carefully cultivated species and further highlights the importance of our community gardens and access to green space.
Installed in 2023, I continue to work with Ridgewood Community Garden to plant new plants and flowers each season.
